If I could have a pound for every time I’ve heard this as an excuse, I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this blog. I’d be sipping a fresh-fruit smoothie from my mansion in LA (with a gym in the basement, of course!!)
No seriously, ask yourself this; on your list of priorities, where does exercise fall? Is it even on your list? Some of you don’t exercise because you think you don’t have time. You’re waiting for your schedules to ease up, for the weather to cool off or heat up, for school to end or start, or some other future event. The truth is there’s never a right time to get moving. It’s now or never, so read on to find out how to make exercise a reality.
I’ve heard all the excuses under the sun for not exercising such as: it’s boring, or, it’s too much like hard work, or, I tried it before and didn’t get the results I expected, or, I joined a gym before and didn’t go so what’s the point, or, and this is the most common on: I don’t have time!
Well, I beg to disagree.
I’ve challenged a number of my clients, as I am challenging you reading this blog right now, to try this 10 minute (yes, 10 minute!!) workout. Trust me; it’ll leave you energised, motivated and feeling good and above all, you don’t need any equipment –it’s all done using your own bodyweight! Now the key to this is to have minimal breaks between each exercise, so build up slowly until you can do the full 10 minutes without stopping.
Here we go…
- Exercise 1 – Star Jumps (1 min);
- Exercise 2 – Squats (1 min);
- Exercise 3 – Press Ups (1 min);
- Exercise 4 – Sit Ups (1 min);
- Exercise 5 – Burpees (1 min);
- Exercise 6 – Plank Hold (2 mins);
- Exercise 7 – Mountain Climbers (1 min);
- Exercise 8 – Lunges (10 per leg for 1 min)
- Exercise 9 – Supermans (with knees off the floor) (1 min).
And there you have it. 10 minutes is all it takes and believe me, it will work. So, no more excuses about not having time to exercise!!
